Saturdays 10am - 12pm

in the Fellowship Hall

Contact Linda F. for more information on connecting with this group.

Gospel Plus Line Dance, a group of men and women of all ages, has been meeting on Saturday mornings at Churchland Baptist Church for over 5 years. Many members are participants other groups and are seasoned dancers while most weeks bring us new learners. We dance to Christian and “clean” contemporary music. The primary dance instructor is Phyllis while Linda is the coordinator and serves as the substitute teacher. There is no fee for joining this class but monetary and packaged food donations are requested.

As of July 2026 the Gospel Plus Line Dance group has donated almost $4,000 to charitable causes through or independent of the church (Trunk or Treat, HER Shelter, Breast Cancer, School Supplies, Mission Projects, etc.) and has donated over 4,500 canned or packaged
goods to OASIS in downtown Portsmouth. This class does not meet on holiday weekends and either cancels or moves class to City Park when the social hall of the church is booked by another group.

All are welcome.
No experience needed.

We can be seen on YouTube with the dances "Drift Away," "Get Your Blessings," "Matter of Fact," "Boss," "Afraid," and "Do that Dance."
