Guidelines and Expectations

Please help us create an environment for success by providing the necessary supplies and following the guidelines for safety of both students and volunteers. If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Kim Miller via email:

  • Churchland Baptist will provide a safe space, internet access, and volunteers to supervise and assist students as they study. We are not providing school supplies, snacks, or devices. We ask that parents provide all required supplies for their students including pencils, papers, computers/tablets and earbuds or other personal listening devices so that children will be able to engage in their on-line lessons without disturbing others. Parents may also provide snacks for their children. We ask that all items provided be packed in a bag or backpack so that it will be easy for volunteers to help the children to keep track of their own belongings.

    • Please provide log-in information, websites, etc for your children’s school classes as needed for them to complete their work

    • If possible, please provide a list of lessons/work that you would like for your child to complete each day so that volunteers can ensure that students are on task

  • All children and adult volunteers will wear masks while inside the building. Volunteers may take children who need a break outside for a short break from wearing their masks in between lessons. Hand sanitizer will also be used every time a student or volunteer enters or leaves the building.

  • Temperature checks and a health questionnaire will be completed each day when children are dropped off. Drop off and pick up will be at the church office door with a volunteer or church staff who will escort children to classrooms. Any child who has a temperature over 100 or has other symptoms of illness will not be allowed to participate during that day.

  • Classrooms will be set up with tables and chairs set up for appropriate distancing between students.

  • Volunteers and church staff will ensure that each space is properly cleaned after students leave each week.

  • Space is VERY limited (only 14 slots are available!) This is to ensure that rooms are not overcrowded and to limit exposure for volunteers and students. Pre-registration is required for all students who participate.
