Important Update!!

Out of an abundance of caution and concern for our congregation and community the leadership of Churchland Baptist has made the difficult decision to suspend in-person worship. Our on-line worship experiences will continue on our website and Facebook pages. This decision will be re-evaluated in February. Thank you for understanding and we pray that you will all stay safe and well!

Please review our re-opening plan and then click the link below to respond to our one question survey.

A health questionnaire will be required for each person entering the worship space. A sample can be found by clicking the button below.

Churchland Baptist Re-Opening Plan

Returning to Church - What to Expect

Note the following as we put in place plans to provide the safest environment for reopening our building for worship.

For least the first several weeks, we plan to gather for worship only on Sunday mornings at 11:00.  All other ministries (Worship Care for infants/toddlers, Sunday Morning Bible Study, Wednesday Evening Bible Study, small groups, children/youth activities) will not resume inside our building until a future date (TBD).

“Safer at home” and virtual worship will continue even when we resume worship in the sanctuary for the vulnerable or for anyone who has been sick or chooses not to return at this time.

We will use the Narthex as our only point to enter/exit the sanctuary.

Please park accordingly.

  • Ushers and directional signs will guide and assist your entry into, seating in, and departure from the church. You will enter in one direction and exit in another, using a one-way traffic flow.

  • Everyone who enters will complete a very brief health questionnaire (either in advance, bringing the completed questionnaire with you, or completing the questionnaire upon entering the building).

  • Everyone who enters will have his/her temperature checked with a digital, touchless thermometer.

  • Everyone who enters will use hand sanitizer, as well as upon exiting.

  • Face coverings will be used by all who enter the sanctuary. Wearing a face covering is a way to protect others, as they are wearing face coverings to protect you. If you do not have a face covering, one will be provided. The exceptions for using a face covering include:

    • If you have trouble breathing or are unable to remove the mask without help; and,

    • If your health conditions prohibit wearing a face covering.

  • We will practice social distancing. The pews will be marked with very other pew closed. A 6’ distance will be indicated on those available pews. Family members living in the same household may sit together.

Worship - What to Expect

  • Worship will be conducted within a 30-40 minute time frame.

  • Since we will be videotaping during our 11:00 a.m. worship in the sanctuary, due to the time it takes for editing, the virtual worship video will be available by the first of the week – both online and by eBlast.

  • Our choir will not be singing in person during worship until a future date. We plan to video record choir solos or quartets in advance.

  • Congregational singing is on hold until a future date.

  • Hymnals and bibles will be removed from the pews used for seating.

  • All physical contact will be on hold until a future date.

  • Collection baskets will be positioned by the doors for in-person giving of offerings.

  • Our Hospitality Room will not be used for coffee and refreshment at this time.

  • Use of Friendship Pads and serving of Communion in person are on hold.

  • Worship folders (bulletins) will not be used – an electronic copy will be sent in advance via eBlast.

  • All worship will be on the floor level to allow us to continue to use video as a  component of worship (similar to our virtual worship).

  • Child-care will not be provided. We encourage families with preschoolers and children to continue to participate in virtual worship.
